The Open Enrollment Period for 2023 plans has ended. However, certain individuals may qualify for the Special Enrollment Period.
To be eligible, you must have experienced a significant life change. Typically, you will need to apply 60 days before or after the event.
In addition, if you qualify for Medicaid or CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), you may apply at any time.
If you or a family member you live with had or adopted a child, you may be eligible for the special enrollment period. Furthermore, if you had to place your child in foster care, you may also qualify.
To continue, you can apply during the special enrollment period if you are recently married. However, at least one partner must have had minimum essential coverage prior to marriage.
If you legally separate or divorce and your health insurance is affected, you may qualify for the special enrollment period.
