Three Questions That Decide Your Plan

Before comparing premiums, work through these. The right answer for you is usually the least expensive plan that still keeps your doctors in-network.

  1. 1 - Providers

    Are your doctors in-network?

This is the deciding factor. A doctor who is in network on one Blue Cross NC plan can be out of network - and far pricier - on another. Check before you enroll.

  2. 2 - Travel

    Do you leave North Carolina?

Only Blue Advantage covers non-emergency care outside NC. Every other plan covers out-of-state care for emergencies and urgent care only.

  3. 3 - Budget

    Premium vs. provider choice?

Broader networks cost more. Narrowing to one health system (or a limited network) lowers the premium - worth it if your providers are inside it.
