Blue Cross NC Introduces Pay as a Guest for One-Time Premium Payments

Easier Premium Payments with Blue Cross NC’s New Pay as a Guest Feature

Starting November 12, 2024, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) is introducing Pay as a Guest, a simple and secure way for subscribers and their family members to make one-time premium payments without logging into Blue Connect. This convenient option is perfect for those not enrolled in autopay or for loved ones assisting with payments.

Who Can Use Pay as a Guest? This feature is available to Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplemental, and Medicare Rx members, as well as individuals under 65 (both on and off Exchange) who are not enrolled in autopay. Subscribers with a Blue Connect account can also use Pay as a Guest if they prefer to make a one-time payment.

How to Access Pay as a Guest Subscribers, family members, or friends can make a payment quickly and securely from desktop or mobile devices without sharing login credentials. To use this feature:

1. Visit bluecrossnc.com

2. Select the Members tab

3. Click Make a Payment under Helpful Information

4. Select Pay as a Guest

Payment Options Users can pay using:

• Bank account draft (EFT)

• Credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express)

• Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or Venmo

To complete a payment, users will need the subscriber’s 9-digit ID number, date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY), and 5-digit ZIP code where bills are sent. Payments will appear in Blue Connect within 24-48 hours, and a confirmation email will be sent if one is on file.

This new feature ensures a hassle-free way to pay premiums, even if Blue Connect or pay-by-phone services are temporarily unavailable.
