How to View, Print, or Request Your Blue Cross NC Member ID Card

Step-by-step guide to viewing, printing, and managing your Blue Cross NC member ID card through the Blue Connect portal and mobile app.

HealthPlans of NC

Your Blue Cross NC member ID card is your proof of insurance at the doctor's office, pharmacy, or hospital. It contains important information, such as your Subscriber ID (Member ID), plan name, deductible, and out-of-pocket maximum. Keeping your card accessible—whether physical or digital—ensures you can verify your benefits and avoid overpaying for care.

Blue Cross NC makes it easy to access your ID card through the Blue Connect member portal and mobile app. You can view, download, print, or add your card to your digital wallet anytime.

How to View or Print Your ID Card Online

Step 1: Go to Blue Connect

Visit BlueConnectNC.com to access the Blue Cross NC member portal.

Step 2: Log In to Your Account

Click "Log In" near the top right of the page. Enter your username and password, then complete any security verification if prompted (such as a code from an authenticator app).

Don't have an account? Click "Register" to create one. You can register using your member ID card or by verifying your personal information. Note: If you just enrolled, it may take up to 48 hours to verify your enrollment.

Step 3: Access Your ID Card

Once logged in, look for "ID Card" in the account menu (usually in the top right corner of the screen, near your initials or profile icon). Click or tap on "ID Card" to view your digital member ID card.

Step 4: Verify Your Information

Check that the details on your card are accurate, including:

• Your name

• Subscriber ID (Member ID)

• Plan name

• Group number (if applicable)

• Deductible and out-of-pocket maximum

• Rx letter code (in the lower right corner—used for prescription drug coverage)

Step 5: Download or Print

Select "Download" to save your ID card as a PDF, or select "Print" to generate a printable version. For durability, consider printing on cardstock.

Using the Blue Connect Mobile App

The Blue Connect mobile app provides the easiest way to access your ID card on the go. Many doctors' offices now accept digital ID cards, so you may not need to carry a physical card.

Download the App:

Search for "Blue Connect Mobile NC" in the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and download the free app.

Log In:

Use the same username and password as your Blue Connect web account. The app supports simplified login through Face ID, Touch ID, or Fingerprint ID for quick access.

View Your ID Card:

Tap on your initials in the top right corner to open the account menu, then tap "ID Card" to view your digital member ID card.

Add Your ID Card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet

For the most convenient access, you can add your Blue Cross NC ID card directly to your phone's digital wallet. This way, your insurance card is always with you—no need to open an app or log in.

How to Add to Digital Wallet:

1. Download and open the Blue Connect mobile app

2. Log in to your account

3. Tap your initials in the top right corner to open the account menu

4. Tap "ID Card" from the menu

5. Tap "Add to Apple Wallet" or "Add to Google Wallet."

Once added, you can access your ID card directly in your phone's wallet app without opening Blue Connect.

Request a Replacement ID Card

If you've lost your physical ID card or need a new one, you can easily request a replacement:

Through Blue Connect:

Log in to Blue Connect, navigate to the ID Card section, and look for an option to order a replacement card. Replacement cards are typically mailed to your home address within 10 business days.

By Phone:

Call Blue Cross NC Customer Service at 877-258-3334 to request a new card.

Note: Member ID cards are not available for expired or cancelled policies.

Digital ID Cards for Paperless Members

As of November 2025, Blue Cross NC introduced digital member ID cards for individual under-65 subscribers with a Blue Connect account and enrolled in paperless delivery. If you've opted for paperless delivery, your ID card will be emailed to you rather than mailed.

Benefits of Digital ID Cards:

• Immediate access to coverage information (no waiting for mail)

• Automatic updates to reflect current benefit information

• Environmentally friendly (less paper waste)

You can still request a physical card at any time through Blue Connect or by calling Customer Service, even if you're enrolled in paperless delivery.

Understanding Your Member ID Card

Your Blue Cross NC member ID card contains important information you'll need when receiving care:

Front of Card:

• Your name

• Subscriber ID (Member ID)—needed when calling customer service, receiving medical care, or picking up prescriptions

• Plan name

• Deductible amount

• Out-of-pocket maximum

• Rx letter code (for prescription coverage)

• Product indicator (PPO, HMO, etc.)

Back of Card:
